2010/20111 Student Agenda Cover

Our Student Agenda covers over the years have been the result of RBSS original student artwork.  Each year a student portrays a stunning visual message of our logo "Eye to Eye with Respect". This year we are pleased to say that the choice for our 2010-2011 covers were given to our incoming grade 9s from Clayburn Middle school.  Students were offered the choice from several RBSS student submissions from Ms. Dunn’s Art classes. Students overwhelmingly selected the entry by Mackenzie Friesen. Thank you Ms. Dunn for your involvement with your art classes and overseeing the agenda cover selection. Congratulations Mackenzie in designing such an eye catching cover.

Mackenzie's Design:
When Ms. Dunn announced the agenda cover assignment, I was not exactly sure in which design direction to go. After some thought, I decided I wanted to incorporate what the school represents to me. I wanted to combine the school’s mascot, the Timber Wolf as a way to symbolize the meaning of ‘a pack’ as it applies to Robert Bateman. To me, the Robert Bateman pack represents, respect for our fellow students, respect for our teachers and respect for our roles as students. With this, I hope the new students at Robert Bateman feel welcome, as they join the Robert Bateman ‘student pack’.

Senior Girl's Rugby

Satisfaction Survey 2009/2010
The Provincial Satisfaction Survey is unique in its scope, size and usefulness to schools. It gathers information from parentsand students on topics related to school environment, safety, and achievement. The information is used for planning in individual schools and provides a district and provincial perspective.

In February 2010 the Satisfaction Survey will be administered to students in grades 10 and 12 and their parents. We encourage parents to participate in this survey, as the results are important in identifying and celebrating current strengths, as well as determining where the school needs to focus improvement. The surveys contain standard questions for the Province – in addition, questions from the school and/or district that focus on local conditions or issues may be included.

This year, the survey can be completed electronically and can be accessed on the Internet at www.bced.gov.bc.ca/sat_survey.   Any computer with an Internet connection can be used, and access to the e-survey is simple and secure. All that is required is a logon number that the school will provide to participants. Provincial, District and School Reports for previous years can be viewed at the same site, without a logon number.

The e-survey site will be open for the month of February.

http://www.bced.gov.bc.ca/sat_survey/access.htm

To receive your logon number by phone, please contact Christine at the school at 604 864 0220 or by email robert_sloboda@sd34.bc.ca.
